A straight knockout match is a type of cup match played over just one game, rather than over 2 legs. This type of match is used mostly in domestic competitions such as the English League Cup. In the case of a draw, a straight knockout match is usually decided by extra time and penalties. However, the FA Cup in England uses a replay system.
